Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Pawsies collects, why it is needed, who helps us process it, and the controls available to you.
Effective July 22, 20261. Who this policy covers
Pawsies ("Pawsies," "we," "us," or "our") provides a personalized virtual-pet application for iOS. This policy applies to the Pawsies app, the services used to create personalized pets and rooms, and this website.
Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
2. Information we process
Content you choose to provide
- Photos of a pet or room that you select or capture when requesting a personalized creation.
- Names you assign to pets and rooms.
- Messages and diagnostic details you send when contacting support.
Account and app information
- A pseudonymous Firebase guest user ID created automatically when you use Pawsies. We do not require your name, email address, or social login for this guest account.
- Generated pet and room identifiers, generation status, asset metadata, and the personalized images and sprite assets returned for your request.
- Device and installation identifiers, app version, feature configuration, product interactions, and limited technical or diagnostic information produced by the app and its service providers.
Purchases and virtual currency
Apple processes payment details. Pawsies and Adapty receive purchase status, product identifiers, transaction-related information, and your Paw Gems balance so purchases and personalized generations can work. We do not receive your full card number.
Game continuity and device storage
Care levels, pet state, room placement, Pawprints, preferences, and related game progress are stored on your device and may also be synchronized to the Pawsies backend so the game can be restored after reinstall. Pawsies stores an opaque recovery credential in Apple Keychain; when iCloud Keychain is enabled, Apple may synchronize that encrypted credential across your devices. The credential does not contain your pet photos, game state, email address, or name.
Locally scheduled reminders and widget presentation data remain device features. A widget can display selected care information through Apple’s shared app storage when you enable it.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate your guest account and keep your personalized creations associated with it.
- Generate, process, download, and display personalized pet and room assets.
- Operate game behavior, local reminders, widgets, purchases, Paw Gems, and customer support.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve reliability and product experience.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, and App Store obligations.
Depending on where you live, these uses rely on performing our agreement with you, your consent (including permission to access photos or the camera), our legitimate interests in operating and improving Pawsies, and compliance with law.
4. Services that help Pawsies work
We disclose information only as needed to operate the app, complete your request, comply with law, or protect the service. Our current service categories include:
- Apple for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, operating-system permissions, encrypted Keychain and optional iCloud Keychain synchronization, widgets, and local notifications.
- Google Firebase for anonymous authentication, remote configuration, and product analytics. Google’s Gemini service may process a generated room image to identify safe in-room positions.
- Adapty for purchase entitlement infrastructure, product presentation, and the Paw Gems ledger associated with your pseudonymous guest ID.
- fal.ai for personalized image generation using the photo you submit.
- OpenAI as an alternative configured room-analysis provider. Only one configured room analyzer is used for a generation.
- Hosting, database, storage, security, and operational-log providers used to run the Pawsies backend.
We may disclose information if required by law or to investigate fraud, security incidents, or threats to users. If Pawsies is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, or asset transfer, information may be transferred subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
5. No advertising or cross-app tracking
Pawsies does not sell personal information and does not use personal information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. Firebase Analytics is configured without advertising-ID support.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep personalized pet and room records, source uploads, and generated assets while they remain connected to your guest account and are needed to provide the service. You can delete an individual generated pet or room from its edit screen. You can also open Settings → Delete account and data to permanently remove your guest account and its active Pawsies backend records, uploads, generated bundles, local Pawsies data, Firebase identity, and recovery credentials.
Deletion does not remove records Apple is required to keep about App Store purchases, and it does not itself request an Apple refund. We retain the associated Adapty purchase profile and an immutable premium currency transaction audit for purchase support, fraud prevention, reconciliation, and legal compliance. Service providers may also retain limited security, transaction, backup, or legal-compliance records for the periods required by their policies or law. De-identified information that can no longer identify you may be retained.
7. Your choices and rights
- Decline or revoke camera and photo-library access in iOS Settings. Personalized creation requires a photo you choose to provide.
- Disable sound, music, widgets, or notifications using Pawsies or iOS settings.
- Delete individual generated pets and rooms, or delete the full guest account in Pawsies Settings.
- Depending on your location, request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent by contacting us.
You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated backend requests and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Pawsies and its providers may process information in countries other than yours; where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards.
9. Children
Pawsies is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who cannot legally consent. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as Pawsies changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change is material and notice is required.
